The American Optical Saratoga is a tried and true look that just never goes out of style. Our handcrafted black acetate frames are Made in America using only the finest global components, like sturdy seven-barrel German hinges. AO True-Color polarized gray lenses include both a backside, anti-reflective coating that reduces glare, and an oleophobic coating that minimizes smudges. AOLite polarized nylon lenses are lightweight for long-wearing comfort and are impact-resistant. To bring this style back into production was a high-stakes project for the AO team. We followed original blueprints from the American Optical archives, making necessary tweaks for modern fit and optimal ergonomics. Due to popular demand, we’ve added size 54-19-145 mm to fit a wider range of faces.
